Basic Information:

Born:  May 23, 1945, in Auburn, Washington (Gemini, Rooster)

Raised:  Military dependent child raised mostly overseas until age 12.  Parents retired in Puyallup, Washington.  Graduated from Puyallup High School in 1963.

Family:  One older sister, Sharon,  in Wisconsin.  Parents deceased.  Married to John Morrell (retired forester).  One daughter, Jennifer, born 1979.

Education: BA, English literature 1971, teaching certificate 1974, presently working on BA in art at University of Alaska in spare time.

Media:  Watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, wood engraving, intaglio, serigraph, china painting, thrown and handbuilt ceramics.

Shows:  Solo: 1987, Artists Cove Gallery, Sitka, Alaska; 1995, Alaska Pacific Bank, Sitka, Alaska.  Two-Man: 1986, Alaska Pacific Bank, Sitka;  2004 and 2005, Juneau Arts & Humanities, Juneau, Alaska.  Various awards at local Ketchikan Art Guild and Baranof Arts and Crafts Association  judged and juried shows.

 Artists’ Statement:
For over 25 years I have been selling screen prints, block prints, and paintings in Southeast Alaska.  My favorite subjects are children, animals, and seascapes. The last few years I have focused on ceramics and am presently playing with once-fired stoneware containers and sculpture.  My husband and I spend a lot of time on the waters of Southeast Alaska, and I enjoy taking a sketchbook or watercolors out and painting what I see
